Next week, the first full week of term, sees a number of additional activities on offer to promote a sense of wellbeing, including yoga, art, sewing, singing and gardening, alongside visiting speakers and events. We were joined by two outstanding speakers at the beginning of term, talking to staff and parents. Hope Virgo is an international multi award winning leading advocate for people with eating disorders. Hope helps young people and employers (including schools, hospitals and businesses) to deal with the rising tide of mental health issues which affect one in four people. Professor Samuel Stein is a Consultant in Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatry. He spoke to us about children’s behaviour from behavioural, cognitive, systemic and psychoanalytical perspectives.
A fascinating insight, and very well received.
We are all looking forward to trying new activities as we promote positive mental health across the school.
