Seniorships
Every member of Year 8 shares in the responsibility of the harmonious running of the school and positively contributes to richness of the whole school community through our Seniorship programme.
Whilst other schools select just a handful of pupils (Prefects) to act as role models, we have found that all children enjoy and benefit enormously from being given additional responsibilities.
All children must formally apply for their preferred Seniorship role whilst in Year 7. Seniorships range from running clubs and supporting different departments day-to-day through to setting up reading schemes and organising tribe competitions.
Seniorships are designed so each Year 8 child is able to enhance their leadership skills, have hands-on experience facilitating and organising others, learn from a member of staff, develop new or existing skills and, most importantly, share their interests and expertise with other children and adults.
Our Seniors contribute enormously to our expansive school life, and in turn, when they finish their Seniorships they are better prepared for the world beyond Dulwich.
