Festival of Light
Nash House have recently celebrated a range of different festivals of light as part of promoting British values.
In November, the children celebrated the Hindu festival of Diwali. They dressed up in traditional costumes and loved tasting some delicious traditional foods.
At the beginning of December, the children took part in a Christingle Service, conducted by Reverend Rutherford, and attended by parents and relatives of the children. The children enjoyed making Christingles and understanding the symbolism of the Christingle.
The Swedish celebration of St Lucia was also celebrated with children dressing up in traditional costumes and the signing of traditional Swedish carols. The children discovered how St Lucia brought food and light to those in need and how children in Sweden celebrate St Lucia Day.
At the end of term, all the children in Nash House performed a wonderful nativity, ‘Everyone Loves a Baby’, to their parents and relatives and the residents of Evernden House.
