Moving to Cranbrook

We love it here and think you will too. A rural idyll within easy reach of the metropolis. Somewhere you can embrace the great outdoors yet remain within 5 minutes of a Michelin starred restaurant.

An easy commute

It’s an easy commute into London. It is under an hour on the South Eastern train network from Staplehurst into London Bridge, Cannon Street, Waterloo East and Charing Cross.

Our extended day means children in Year 1 and above can be with us from 7.15 am, and from Year 4 children can stay until 8.00 pm if helpful. Our flexible boarding is also very popular.

A thriving rural community

These days living in beautiful countryside doesn’t need to feel like living in the sticks or another era.

Cranbrook, Hawkhurst and Tenterden are thriving towns where you will easily find the majority of what you need, from farmers markets and superstores to cinema and theatres, children’s toys to vintage clothes, doctors and dentists to banks and baby massage. Tunbridge Wells, Rye and Hastings are under 40 minutes if you’re in search of scale and even greater variety.

If you want to energetically embrace the outdoors then there is everything from mountain biking trails, Park Run and Go Ape in Bedgebury Forest, kayaking and sailing in Bewl, kite surfing and paddle boarding near Camber Sands to horse riding in Hemsted Forest. Or you could simply walk through the stunning open countryside or woodland, visit Sissinghurst Castle and other National Trust properties or take a trip to the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

Cranbrook is a vibrant community with far too many clubs and societies, services and facilities for us to mention. There genuinely is something for everyone, no matter your age or disposition but don’t take our word for it, come down and see.

Outstanding local senior schools

There is a wide and excellent selection of senior schools from single sex full independent day schools to mixed grammar with boarding.
