A wonderful evening at the Summer Concert, with a wide repertoire of music for every taste.
The School Orchestra opened proceedings with ‘Coppelia’ by Delibes and ‘The Flintstones’ theme, followed by the Year 3 Recorders and Choir who sang ‘Agents of Change’ – fitting in perfectly with our theme for the term ‘Reduce, reuse, recycle’
Brass Band, Woodwind Ensemble and Stringcredibles showed the depth of talent here at Dulwich, with pieces ranging from the brass ‘Buddie’s Boogie’ to ‘Allegro’ from Handel’s Water Music. There were some wonderful individual instrumental and vocal performances from Rodgers and Hammerstein to ‘O Holy Boy’ by John Ireland on the violin.
Jazz Band gave us the upbeat ‘Top Cat’ by Tom Scott and there were rousing renditions of ‘Seven Nation Army’ by the White Stripes and ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ by Nirvana from our very own Rock School.
Bruno Mars featured in the Year 6 Choir performance, and the Junior and Senior Choir rounded off a great evening with a roof raising version of ‘Ain’t no mountain high enough’. Very well done to all the children and staff who worked so hard to reach such a high standard, you deserved the thunderous applause!
